U.K. Government to Vote on Renewable Energy Tariff

The Lobby Lords and MPs will be face to face in parliament with the 35 organizations that make up the Renewable Energy Tariff Coalition. They will meet in parliament before the next week’s vote.
The event features a three dimensional 2020 renewable energy town, shows how the Energy Tariff measure can make the towns entirely self-sufficient by producing their own renewable energy. The meaning of measure is that many renewable energy generators and owners could receive a cheque from their electricity company.
Griff Rhys Jones said that the Renewable Energy Tariff gives individuals and businesses an easy and financially attractive way to help combat global warming. He added that on renewable we are the embarrassment to Europe and tariff can turn that around.
The Tariff will decrease the payback times for heat schemes to around 5 years, for larger PV projects it could be 7-8 years.

Norway doubled spending on Renewable Energy

The major exporter of oil and gas, Norway has doubled the spending on renewable energy research. In next year’s national budget, Renewable Energy Development and Research will get double the fund from 10 billions kroner (1.7 billion) to 20 billions kroner (3.4 billion).
Norway produces its own electricity from clean hydroelectric power. The prime minister of Norway told in a conference that renewable energy sources like hydroelectric, wind, solar is needed to reduce the emission from our planet. U.S. Senate passes Renewable Energy Tax Credit with bailout plan

On Wednesday the U.S. Senate passed $700 billion bailout plan. Along with the bailout plan they also pass the tax credits for renewable energy sources like solar and wind. The House will vote on the bailout plan on Friday.

In this latest bill the tax credit for producing electricity from wind would be extended for one year, while the tax breaks for solar energy would be extended for 8 years. The credit for other renewable energy sources would be extended for 2 years.

The House has already voted for extending the alternative energy credits, which were happily accepted by the solar and wind industries. Now the investors would be more likely to invest in renewable energy projects. As a result more direct employment opportunities will rise.
